Privacy notice — AMI Consultorio

Full privacy notice, under Mexico's Federal Law on the Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties published in the Official Gazette on 20 March 2025 and in force since 21 March 2025, and other applicable provisions. This English version is provided for convenience; the Spanish version prevails.

1. Who is responsible for your data

AMI Consultorio is responsible for the personal data we collect through this website and our contact channels (form, WhatsApp, phone and email). Our address is Rancho Vista Hermosa 122, Las Campañas, Coapa, Coyoacán, 04929, Ciudad de México.

For legal purposes, AMI Consultorio is the trade name under which Alma Ruth Romero Luévano practises as a self-employed professional, and who holds the status of data controller under the law.

2. What data we collect — and what we don't

Through our contact channels we collect only:

Identification and contact data: name, phone and email.
Data about your request: the general reason for your enquiry and the location you wish to attend.

We do not collect health data through these channels. The form asks for a general reason (for example, "check-up" or "pain"), not clinical information. Please do not send us diagnoses, test results, medication or details of your health through these channels.

Your clinical record is not ours. Clinical history, diagnoses, X-rays and other health data are collected and kept by the dentist who treats you, an independent professional who is the controller of that data. That professional will give you their own privacy notice and request your express written consent, as the law requires for sensitive data.

3. What we use your data for

Necessary purposes (without these we cannot provide the service):

Putting you in touch with the dentist and location matching your request.
Scheduling, confirming or rescheduling your appointment.
Following up on your request and answering your questions.

Additional purposes (not necessary — you may opt out):

Sending you reminders for periodic check-ups.
Informing you about news from the practice.

To opt out, write to citas@amiconsultorio.com with the subject "Opt out of additional purposes". Opting out does not affect your care in any way.

About consent: the necessary purposes arise from the relationship you establish with us when requesting an appointment. Additional purposes require your consent and you may withdraw it at any time.

4. What happens when we assign you a dentist

To arrange your care, we transfer your contact data to the dentist at the location you chose. From that moment, that professional becomes the controller of the data they collect for your care, decides on its processing under their own obligations, and will give you their privacy notice.

This transfer is necessary to provide the service you request, so it does not require your additional consent; by sending us your data you accept it.

5. Other transfers

We do not sell or trade your personal data. Beyond the case above, we only share it with competent authorities where there is a duly founded legal request. For any other transfer we would ask for your consent.

If you use dental coverage from an insurer or institution, dealings with them are handled by the dentist treating you, under their own privacy notice.

6. Your rights (ARCO)

You have the right to Access your data, Rectify it if inaccurate, request its Cancellation, and Object to its processing for specific purposes.

To exercise them over the data we hold, send your request to citas@amiconsultorio.com including:

Your name and a means to send you our reply.
A copy of official photo ID.
A clear description of the data and the right you wish to exercise.
For a rectification, documentation supporting the change.

We will reply within a maximum of 20 working days. If the request is granted, it will take effect within the following 15 working days.

Important: if your request concerns your clinical record, you must address it to the dentist who treated you, who holds it and answers for it. If you write to us, we will point you in the right direction.

7. Withdrawing your consent

You may withdraw your consent at any time through the same channel. Note that withdrawing it may prevent us from continuing to manage your appointment.

8. Limiting use or disclosure

You may ask us to limit the use or disclosure of your data by writing to the same address. If granted, you will be added to our internal exclusion list.

9. Cookies and tracking

This site uses no tracking, analytics or advertising cookies. See our cookie policy for details.

10. Security measures

We apply reasonable administrative, technical and physical measures to protect your contact data against damage, loss, alteration, destruction or unauthorised use. Access is limited to whoever manages appointments.

11. Changes to this notice

Any change will be published on this page with the date of the last update. We suggest reviewing it periodically.

12. Data protection authority

Since 21 March 2025, the federal authority for personal data protection held by private parties is the Secretaría Anticorrupción y Buen Gobierno (Ministry of Anti-Corruption and Good Governance), which took over these functions after INAI was dissolved.

If you believe your data protection rights have been infringed, you may file a complaint with that Ministry. The law in force also provides for the juicio de amparo before specialised courts as a means of defence.
